The question often arises of how much is too much! And how much is too little. When and how do we appease the dance teacher, the tennis coach, the soccer coach! The kid thrives. Talented in all! Desperate to not disappoint his folks and his peers and coaches!
We are seeing more kids being injured unnecessarily! There is no reason for burn out. From early on kids often delve into a different multi pronged approach until they specialize in their respective sport! It is always good to have balance and a cross range of sporting realms. The key idea however is how does one program the hamstring to perform optimally in running to hockey to dance to cricket to gym… and we would suggest a balance of deep tissue therapy, alignment, nutrition, biokinetics, sports nlp, and all round balance – this will be the ultimate answer to avert burn out.
I must also stress that sometimes rest and chill is desperately needed. In school holidays it’s ok to hit snooze button. It’s ok to watch Netflix and movies. The training and fitness won’t suddenly disappear! Enjoy it, play with it and make sure your kid is always having fun, why must one be forced into something that they don’t love! Embrace and fly!
