Rehabilitation Centre in the Heart of Johannesburg

Just under a year ago I was fortunate enough to have been introduced to the Synergy Holistix Centre and the medical practitioners there. A remarkable practice for so many reasons, I have been treated on several occasions by both Katia Pinheiro and Dr Wayne Borowsky for sports related injuries. Physical ailments aside, my experience with these practitioners transcended further than just fixing whatever was wrong with the physical, but looking at the greater picture, my emotional and spiritual wellbeing and how it is all connected. There is familial atmosphere at the practice, a care and kindness towards each patient in what could potentially be a very clinical and unwelcoming environment. But I have always left the practice soothed and rejuvenated, both physically and emotionally. For those of you who are thinking about getting that sore knee or cricked neck checked out, do it now.

I wish to convey a personal thank you and gratitude for a therapy beyond expectation given the state of knee damage accumulated over at least 20 years. The experience at the Centre has been wonderful and most of all encouraging that my knee can function without use of heavy pain killers that I had so become accustomed to. Yes it’s still a long way to full recovery but I can assure you that it all appears within reach despite the therapy sessions that only commenced 9 months ago. Again a million thanks and I look forward to that day of complete recovery.

Prior to seeing Wayne, I was anxious about Chiropractors. With this, and the fact that my first injury required an operation at a respectable sports clinic by a world-renowned orthopedic surgeon, my source of rehabilitation was not providing me with what I required. After 13 years I finally broke free and decided to see Wayne. I have been seeing Wayne and Claudia since February 2012. The healing that I receive from Synergy Holistix is not merely physical but intuitive. Bottom line, you get what you need on a holistic basis from Synergy Holistix – this is evident from the way you feel when you walk out of there to your car – content (peaceful happiness).

Over the last 10 years, I have been treated by both Wayne and Marco, and I would not go anywhere else. Wayne has helped me overcome both my injuries and my fear of further injury, and he’s helped me heal far quicker than I thought was possible. Marco is also a very talented physician, and has assisted me with many sports-related injuries over the years. I highly recommend the Synergy Holistix practice.

I’ve been coming to Synergy Holistix since 2012, and since then I’ve been fortunate to qualify and be selected for a few World Championships. I’ll be honest that these results come from disciplined hard work and serious training. However, I would not have been able to maintain this regime without the expertise of Synergy Holistix. With the team getting me through immediate injuries and back into training; and avoiding injuries though regular maintenance, I am off to the Ironman World Championships in Kona to fulfill a lifelong dream. It has been an absolute pleasure coming to your practice over the last 8 years. The friendly warm welcome one gets upon arrival is always appreciated. Every patient is known by name and there is great energy amongst all of the therapists. The professional service you provide is second to none. Through the Chiro, Bio, strength classes, and massage, my injuries always get fixed, and with this help, you have been absolutely instrumental in allowing me to fulfill my dream of running and continuously completing Comrades and Washie 100 milers. I will only ever use you and your team and will confidently recommend your services to absolutely anyone.

Training for my first comrades in 2015 came with many challenges – in the short weeks building up to the race I developed an injury, which several sports health care providers were convinced would rule me out. Dr Wayne assessed the injury and we got to work, along with incredible support, guidance and of course brilliant treatment, I ran and completed my first comrades, much to the surprise of many. I have now done several back to back, although not without some injury scares which were dealt with and healed by those gifted hands.

Following my first race I began brilliant classes with Claudia to strengthen for the future, these classes include great banter, individual care and world class Biokinetics. Then there is always recovery with the talented Katia, she knows the graft and her attention to detail ensures fast and efficient recovery. Friendly smiles, a cup of coffee and the very best of well-rounded care make Synergy Holistix my one stop shop for anything related to sports injury/recovery/strengthening/rehab.

As a top international hockey player I relied heavily on always being in top physical condition. With strenuous demands placed on the body every day it is no wonder I experienced failure from time to time. Dr Wayne Borowsky was always my first call in time of need.

The most impressive aspect of his work is that he could get me back playing in a few days rather than weeks or months. The time in recovery was always much shorter with his treatments. He also offers a huge element of psychological treatment, which I find is part of recovery and healing. He makes me believe anything is possible (even enduring his treatment)! Now I am a hockey coach and I continue sending my players to him for treatment. He is part of the success story that we are writing at Wits University Ladies Hockey.

The day I started receiving treatment from Dr Wayne Borowsky at Synergy Holistix my life changed for the better. I’ve struggled with back problems and associated back ache most of my life. Two years ago I further injured my back. I sadly came to accept that I would never be able to run pain free and therefore pursue something I’m passionate about again. By chance, Wayne was recommended to me at a social engagement. Having tried so many treatment options up until this point, I reluctantly made the appointment after being urged by friends and family. I’m currently training for my next half marathon and have even started considering taking on the Comrades in a couple of years’ time. I now run pain free and quite honestly can’t remember when last I had backache. Being a runner, and now that I’m running again, I’ve sustained various other injuries over the past view months. Wayne has managed to treat all of these quickly and effectively.

As a hobby I race motorcycles. I have been a patient of Dr Borowsky’s for 11 years. He has treated me for intervertebral disc compression in my neck, numerous fractures of bones in my feet, fractures in my wrists, a dislocated shoulder, fractured vertebrae and a fractured pelvis. Thanks to Dr Borowsky’s treatments I have avoided having unnecessary surgery on my back. Not only is Dr Borowsky a talented Chiropractor he is also intuitive, not only healing me physically but also psychologically. I would like to thank Dr Borowsky for all he has done for me.
